Picnic Foods, nestled in the heart of Reading, is a delightful cafe that stands out amid a sea of chain coffee shops. Customers are consistently enamored by its warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and exceptional offerings. Agata Czop highlights the "absolutely sublime" coffee and praises the "phenomenal" cinnamon bun, making it a must-try for pastry lovers. Neil Sansam emphasizes the cafe's distinctive charm with a generous portion of Middle Eastern chicken salad that showcases their commitment to quality. The reviews paint a picture of a cafe that prioritizes not only taste but also sustainability, as M Kapitany notes their use of the highest quality ingredients. From the plethora of delectable homemade cakes to fresh-pressed juices, every bite feels crafted with care. Tyler Lawson appreciates the inviting ambiance, encouraging patrons to choose Picnic Foods over its corporate neighbors. Overall, Picnic Foods is more than just a cafe; it’s a community hub where patrons can enjoy the simple pleasures of life—great food, good company, and a warm atmosphere. It’s a place that I wholeheartedly recommend for both a quick coffee stop and a leisurely lunch. The blend of rich flavors and homemade goodness leaves a lasting impression, making each visit a cherished experience.

Not only is the coffee here absolutely sublime but the baked goods are phenomenal. The cinnamon bun was spectacular. Highly recommend.

Great cafe with happy, friendly staff. Well worth ignoring all the chain coffee shops that surrounding it and going to a decent independently run business. I had the middle eastern chicken salad box which was delicious and a really generous sized portion. Great selection of home made cakes

What a beautiful little shop. Walk past the monster Starbucks next door and into Picnic instead! Very kind staff and delicious pastries and fresh pressed juice!

What a wonderful little coffee shop! So many options of cakes, pastries and sweet treats, so many that it's hard to decide what to have! The portion sizes are incredibly generous, and the pricing not bad either. The coffee was pretty good too. Highly recommended spot in Reading!

A unique and quaint little cafe with lovely choices for lunch. They only use the highest quality and sustainably sourced ingredients. Their homemade cakes are something to die for! All the staff are brilliant!

Amazing food options! Haven’t tried their coffee yet as I am new to Reading but their salads are quite nice, healthy, and fairly priced.

Been there couple of times and loved their fresh homemade food. Nice to find there are a few vegan options as well. This place is like a gem hidden behind Costa snd Starbucks but way better than them. They also offer hand squeezed orange juice. I would rather support a small business than a chain coffeehouse.
